Introduction to Process Optimisation in Process Simulation Software

In the real industry, we might find optimization with more complexity due to a large number of governing equations and constraints (e.g.: mass & energy balances, max. operating condition, etc). Therefore, process simulation is one of the suitable tools to conduct process optimization. This workshop will discuss on how to formulate an optimization problem and how to solve optimization problem in process simulation. Case studies will be done in Aspen HYSYS and Aspen Plus as process simulators and Ms. Excel as a supporting tools.

Consultant Process Engineer at Solusi Optima Bentala

Henry is a seventh-semester Chemical Engineering student from Bandung Institute of Technology, Indonesia. He has an interest in process modelling, simulation, and optimization. Although Henry is still an undergraduate student, he has been trusted in handling projects in the chemical, EPC, and oil & gas industries. Henry is currently working as a part-time process consultant in PT Solusi Optima Bentala and PT LAPI ITB
