Course Schedule

Lesson 1: Foundations of Capital Cost Estimation

1.5 Hours | 18:00 - 19:30 | 01 December 2025

In this inaugural lesson, we delve into the critical aspect of Capital Cost Estimation, laying the groundwork for comprehensive project evaluation. Participants will explore the intricacies of capital cost determination, including accuracy models, estimation methods, and factors influencing cost escalation. Through detailed analysis and case studies, learners will gain a profound understanding of the complexities involved in estimating capital costs, essential for effective project planning and budgeting.

Lesson 2: Revenue and Production Cost Analysis

1.5 Hours | 18:00 - 19:30 | 02 December 2025

In the second lesson, we shift our focus to Revenue and Production Cost Analysis, integral components of Techno-Economic Analysis. Participants will delve into strategies for revenue forecasting, examining market dynamics, demand patterns, and pricing strategies. Additionally, we will explore the intricacies of production cost analysis, covering aspects such as raw material procurement, labor costs, and overhead expenses. Through interactive discussions and hands-on exercises, learners will gain the analytical skills necessary to evaluate revenue streams and optimize production costs, ensuring profitability and sustainability in project endeavors.

Lesson 3: Economic Evaluation Techniques and Sensitivity Analysis

1.5 Hours | 18:00 - 19:30 | 03 December 2025

In the third lesson, we delve into Economic Evaluation Techniques and Sensitivity Analysis, essential tools for assessing project feasibility and risk. Participants will explore key economic evaluation methods, including Net Present Value (NPV), Return on Investment (ROI), and Net Present Value (NPV), gaining insights into their application and interpretation. Moreover, we will delve into sensitivity analysis, examining how variations in input parameters impact project outcomes and decision-making. Through practical examples and simulations, learners will develop the proficiency to conduct robust economic evaluations and assess project resilience to uncertainties, enabling informed investment decisions in dynamic environments. We will then apply the learned theory on an in-depth case study focusing on the production of methanol, a crucial industrial chemical with diverse applications. Participants will examine the entire lifecycle of methanol production, from feedstock selection to process optimization and market analysis. Through a comprehensive analysis of cost structures, technical challenges, and market dynamics, learners will gain practical insights into the complexities of large-scale chemical production projects. By dissecting real-world scenarios and exploring potential risk factors, participants will hone their analytical skills and strategic decision-making abilities, preparing them to tackle similar challenges in their professional endeavors.
